How to Handle Open Container Charges on Game Day in Ann Arbor: A Guide from Criminal Defense Attorney Jonathan

4/2/2023

Ann Arbor, Michigan is known for its lively culture and sporting events, especially on game days. Unfortunately, the festive atmosphere can sometimes lead to individuals being charged with open container offenses. One recent client, who we will refer to as "Mike," was charged with an open container offense during a game day in Ann Arbor. Mike had to report to the court within 10 days, but he lived out of town and was understandably worried about the potential consequences.

That's when Mike reached out to criminal defense attorney Jonathan for help. Jonathan has years of experience representing clients in the 15th District Court and understands the unique challenges that individuals face when they live out of town and have to deal with court proceedings.

Jonathan began by thoroughly reviewing the evidence against Mike and identifying any potential weaknesses in the prosecution's case. He also worked to understand Mike's concerns and helped to put his mind at ease by explaining the court process and what to expect.

One of the key concerns that Mike had was having to report to the court within 10 days while living out of town. Jonathan was able to work with the court and the prosecutor to arrange for Mike to appear remotely, either by phone or video conference. This helped to alleviate Mike's concerns and made it easier for him to participate in the legal proceedings without having to travel back to Ann Arbor.

Ultimately, Jonathan's hard work and dedication paid off, and Mike was able to achieve a positive outcome in his case. He avoided a criminal record and was able to maintain his freedom to travel and leave the state of Michigan. He was also able to move forward with his life with a renewed sense of confidence and a commitment to making positive choices in the future.

As Mike's case demonstrates, facing criminal charges on game day in Ann Arbor can be a challenging and overwhelming experience, especially if you live out of town. However, by working with an experienced criminal defense attorney like Jonathan, it is possible to achieve a positive outcome and move forward with your life in a positive direction. By taking proactive steps, demonstrating a willingness to take responsibility for your actions, and working with a skilled attorney who understands the intricacies of the criminal justice system in the 15th District Court, you can overcome even the most challenging legal obstacles and emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before.

The client walked away from the case without a criminal record, no probation, and no concerns about future jobs.
